Fig is a [[Carcids|Carcid]] mutated by an experimental strain of [[The raid|The Raid]] who believes their purpose in life is to stop the raid. They lived alone on [[Chitara]]'s surface, observing the infection of the raid (and flora) despite having no clue on what to look for. They feel stumped until they learn about the expedition to [[Locus Astra]] and decide other planets might have more answers. (How do they hear about the expedition while alone on the planet's surface?? Idk)

== Appearance ==
Fig is a larger than average [[Carcids|Carcid]], vaguely resembling a giant isopod, with an oddly mutated body. Parts of their exoskeleton (namely around their limbs and head) curve and hook unnaturally, sometimes even formed fully closed loops. They have far more eyes than they should - lopsided, misshapen and scattered over their upper body.

Used to survival on [[Chitara|their planet]]'s [[The Raid|infected surface]] Fig is quiet and observant, preferring to hide over interacting with others.

They have a fascination with plants and crops due to their old survival needs and often try to give gifts to people.

Fig is drawn to Rox, recognizing them as a familiar face from the documents and research notes they first woke up with. They believe Rox and themself are working towards the same goal of stopping the raid but aren't scientifically or socially aware enough to realize that's not the case.

They met officially during a thunderstorm on the first day of the expedition where Fig finds Rox trying to take shelter in a cave while under attack by hostile inhabitants. They do their best to protect Rox and close up any large holes in the cave entrance which Fig stays to help dig more space into and ends up taking residence in Rox's new home.

They has a habit of unintentionally disappearing from Rox's view only to appear somewhere else entirely.
