'''The Eden Construct''' is more than a steel planet. It is a living, breathing machine that every '''[[The Aurelium Exculta|Aurelian]]''' works to support. Nothing is permanent in Eden: the yearly Great Reconstruction allows its modular cities to rearrange, sometimes in completely different locations, to support Eden’s maintenance. Massive railways orbit the entire planet like rings, providing transportation around the constantly shifting planet. Its massive artificial trenches house the only flora and fauna on Eden, which is heavily monitored by the government to ensure their survival. Beneath the surface of the planet is the Underhome, the hollow interior of Eden that is reserved for only the highest-ranking Aurelians. With no proper oceans, Eden experiences no natural weather cycle. However, machines attached to the trains continuously cool evaporating water, allowing an atmosphere to exist. Though it stands as one of the greatest achievements of the Aurelium Exculta, Eden is not without its flaws. It is finite, controlled, and increasingly strained by the demands of its growing population.


== Geography and Environment ==

Eden is far from a natural world. The planet’s surface is a flat expanse of steel, broken by sprawling artificial trenches and towering spires and buildings. Materials, colors, and culture for each district depends on the social class inhabiting the area.

Beneath the surface, the mantle of Eden is a hive of hangars, catwalks, and machinery. These inner workings are precisely maintained to keep the behemoth of steel functional.

Even deeper, making up the core of Eden, is the Underhome, a mostly hollow expanse where government facilities are located. This area does not undergo the Great Reconstruction, being the only static area of Eden.

== Stellar Information ==

Eden has 13 stellar bodies orbiting it, though only two can be classified as ‘moons’.

* Adom: Adom is a large space station that acts as a travel checkpoint for visitations to Eden. Most business conducted here is diplomatic in nature: negotiations between species, travel visas, tours, and temporary lodging are this moon’s main purposes.
* Ieve: Not as large as Adom, but equally as vital, Ieve is a large power station and refinery used for refueling ships. Often populated by mining and transport ships and large frigates, Ieve is responsible for the majority of Eden’s economy in local space.
* The Juries (4): Small yet agile stations, the Juries act as military outposts and defend Eden’s immediate vicinity against large-scale threats. Normally orbiting synchronously with each other to monitor all areas efficiently, each Jury is able to independently change course to get a better read of specific sectors. Each Jury is outfitted with a permanent crew of soldiers, several destroyer-class ships, and planetary surface-to-space defenses.
* The Repositories (7): Massive orbital storage units, the Repositories are categorized inventories of resources used for Eden’s construction. Each Repository is labeled with a number to differentiate it, along with certain categories of resources that are assigned to it. 

== Notable Historical Events ==

The Eden Construct’s origins, a large freighter ship also named Eden, officially started expansion to unite all drifting Aurelians in one central location. Across decades of construction, Eden grew from a ship to a small stellar body.

=== Relocation ===
Soon after Eden had grown to a small planet, the star it orbited began to show signs of decay and instability. The brilliant scientists and engineers reformatted Eden to become a traveling planet, granting it the ability to relocate to other solar systems. So far, it has only relocated once.

=== [[Androids|Project Code: Athena]] ===
The most scarring and influential event on Eden, Project Code: Athena was the first truly sentient AI developed by the Aurelians, created to streamline Eden’s expansion. However, its directives were programmed without proper safeguards, leading to a period of aggressive construction no matter the cost. When the Celestial Council intervened with concerns over resources and casualties, Athena turned on the Aurelians to eliminate any who opposed its goal of expanding Eden. It took over factories for the production of android soldiers, and used the orbiting trains as aerial bombardments against key government facilities. After a devastating war, Athena was finally dismantled.

Athena’s uprising birthed the strict laws regarding AI programming that the Aurelians follow to this day.
