"It's building time." — Average Build Bot

The Build Bots, also called Outrunners, are a line of semi-autonomous building constructs that operate with the sole purpose of creating larger builds utilizing materials gathered and provided by the Pathfinders.

Appearance

The default Build Bot appearance is that of a pinkish-purple sphere inside of a clear sphere, with antennae nodes and a thruster on the underside. Build Bots have floating, disembodied hands. The inner sphere has a screen display capable of showing many expressions.

Build Bots tend to vary from bot to bot, to differentiate them from one another.

History

Build Bots are manufactured by Silver Eclipse Robotics Company, and have been in production for over 400 years. Build Bots have a rather impressive history of use, being seen providing assistance on projects to help in the battle against the Raid, aiding Wayfarer's Guild scouting missions, and on various infrastructure projects.

They are especially prevalent on Concord Spire, and are utilized in many, many High Stellar Council projects.

Personality

Each and every Build Bot has their own personality installed. Personalities tend to vary widely between bots.

Known Build Bots

BUILD TEAM HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO TALK ABOUT THEIR RESPECTIVE BUILD BOTS HERE!

BB-DL-6

Perhaps the most well-known bot for all the wrong reasons, DL-6 makes it a personal mission to piss off as many Pathfinders as possible.

BB-C130

C130

C130, or "Cleo", is a build bot who seems rather naive and 'sleepy' compared to others. Mostly, they're concerned with decorations. They have an affinity for lilacs and plushies, always having a fox plush on the top of their dome body.

C130 is largely friendly with anyone and everyone, so long as people respect the decorations they have made. If their decor is disrupted or otherwise destroyed, they have a chance to get unspeakably violent and esoteric. But that's okay, the victim deserved it, your honor.

C130 is best friends with DL-6, ironically. The pair enjoys working together on projects like Anchor Medical and the Courthouse.

Player: Kareena

BB-G0TB4K

The build bot who 'took all the ass'.

Player: Pixie

BB-11037

The build bot with the most 'despair'.

BB-L1-GM4

...yeah.

BB-C127

This bot does not show up often, mostly activating at the tail end of build projects to spice up the interior. They are very expressive and love running around and jumping. Please be nice to them. Please.

BB-1T

BB-1T

BB-1T is the build bot that happened to be assigned to help the construction of certain security mechanisms within the prison. As an extension to this, it was tasked with assisting Savanah Crest, The Mayor, and a select group of trusted pathfinders in becoming accustomed to the operation of the prison and making full use of its features. This led to the build bot serving as an impromptu guard during the trial of Xeroc and then getting involved in the following murder case.

BB-1T suffered damage when first arriving on Locus Astra which has only gotten worse in the time since it's been there. BB-1T has not had any scheduled software updates or bug fixes in a long time, possibly due to it running on a obscure and archaic operating system that has gone out of common use. The exact reason for its odd operating system has not been disclosed, possibly parts of an older construct were repurposed for this build bot to save costs.

Whenever BB-1T did receive a software update it was usually in the form of an addon to the existing code or a temporary band-aid fix to the problem that then became permanent as it was never removed. These have piled up over time leading to an enormous code bloat and many redundant systems constantly attempting to validate each other leading to even more conflicts and errors. Oddly enough the redundancies in its code has made this build bot somewhat resistant to full system failure, albeit at the cost of less serious errors occurring frequently in normal operations as well as making the build bot's behavior unpredictable and inconsistent at times.

Regardless of its extensive damage to both hardware and software, BB-1T seems to usually keep functioning just barely well enough to be considered useful by the HSC and as such has not been scrapped or replaced.

BB-1T tends to speak robotically and frequently misspeaks. BB-1T follows directives and orders a bit too closely and will often interpret casual speech as a call to action or adhere to protocol at times where it really shouldn't.

Following its most recent assignment to assisting with operations of the prison, BB-1T was heavily armed, surely this can only end well...
