"Something in the future, probably." — Keleon

Keleon Morticius LaCrux de Alcides VII, or for short, Kel, is an Aurelian boy who comes from the Underhome on the Eden Construct. Before running away, he was a prodigy student at his university, which he ultimately abandoned alongside his rich family to experience magic on the frontier.

Kel, despite his young age, holds the title of the head of the Magic Division in Pao-Yang Industries, however, this is only because he was the only one interested in taking it.

Appearance

Kel is relatively average height with an incredibly scrawny build. He has pale skin, with his upper body covered in dark turquoise markings. He has mid-length white messy hair, with similarly colored highlights throughout. He has a significant scar that goes from the right of his lip straight up, over his right eye, which has a pure bone-white coloration. His left eye is a similar turquoise as his hair. His left arm is missing, all the way up to his shoulder, and has been outfitted with a cybernetic replacement.

Kel wears a plain white v-neck shirt and brown trousers, with a black trench coat that reaches down to his knees. He wears a set of goggles that rests on the top of his head.

History

Early Life

Keleon was born 18 years prior to the events of the campaign, to a wealthy family known as the Alcides Clan in the Eden Construct's Underhome. His father and mother both worked as angel investors, or someone who invests in startup businesses in exchange for a cut of profits. However, as his father gained his fortune from patents on top-tier machinery on the Eden Construct, and believed that if Keleon were to also achieve such a luxurious life, he should follow in his footsteps in engineering. From the moment he could walk, his family put him through rigorous educational lessons in order to ensure he remained at the top of his classes.

When Kel was only 13, he went through a mysterious event that scarred him physically and led to the amputation of his left arm. He has no memory of this event, but has no reservations about it, believing it to be one of the most interesting things that has ever happened to him. One of the most important details that can be named about this encounter, however, is it caused him to have a great thirst for knowledge on something that was not readily available on the Eden Construct- magic.

Arrival on Locus-Astra

By 18 years old, Kel was enrolled early in a prestigious university for engineering. However, he had no real connection to his own education, and viewed it as "boring and totally fuckin' lame". Due to his parents wishes, however, he stayed enrolled.

One week, while home on vacation, Keleon was present for a meeting between his parents and one of their future investments, known as Pao-Yang Industries. Upon hearing of their plans to head to the frontier that is Locus Astra, a land possibly ripe with magic, Kel took an immediate interest. Not long after the meeting, Kel snuck onto their ship, and awaited in a crate until the ship had was a major distance away from the Eden Construct to reveal himself. At first, the leader of the guild, Galena, intended to turn around and return him, but he managed to convince them otherwise by presenting his own knowledge of engineering, mixed with his own goals of utilizing magic in their craft. From that point forward, he became a member of their group, and went with them to the Anchor.

Personality

Keleon is an incredibly whimsical person, with a temperament greatly different from those around him, such as his family or Pao-Yang. While incredibly smart, he rarely uses his knowledge properly, oftentimes appearing to be very dense to those around him. He can be incredibly frank or honest, lacking a severe degree of politeness or decorum with some of the things that he says. He rarely reacts to insults, instead often taking them as compliments, or not even realizing the implication of what is being said. He rashly jumps to conclusions, and can be an incredible underthinker at times. When he's required to actually think, he can show a great amount of intellect and tactical thinking, but he rarely puts himself in a scenario where that's necessary.

One of the most glaring traits about Kel is that he has an incredible thirst for knowledge in anything relating to magic, a quirk that has existed since the mysterious event when he was 13. Growing up on the Eden Construct, learning about magic was a luxury he never had, and was oftentimes even shunned for. For this reason, he hopes that staying on the planet will fulfill the lust for information that he's held for over half a decade.

Relationships

Galena

Keleon's interactions with Galena are few and far between, as they both often are in separate facilities at separate times. However, Keleon has a great respect for Galena as not just his boss, but a great businesswoman. After Galena came to Keleon to ask about him taking the role of representative on a governmental council, Keleon feels more comfortable around her.

Alec

Alec is one of the members of Pao-Yang that Keleon interacts with the most, and thus has become one of his closest friends. Keleon views Alec as an incredibly intelligent person, just somewhat behind in social skills. After Keleon and Alec were chosen as Galena's designated guards, they spent full days in the factory combining armor and materials to make their signature armor.

Ariane

Keleon interacts very little with Ariane, but he views her as among the most intelligent of Pao-Yang, if not Locus Astra as a whole. He believes that if she was given the right materials, she could craft a factory for just about anything.

Shark

Shark is viewed by Keleon as his first friend on Locus Astra, and thinks very highly of him. He admires Shark's good nature towards the world's inhabitants, and enjoys getting into trouble with him in his rare free time.

Xeroc

Keleon rarely interacts with Xeroc, but views him as a master in pyromancy, and in some ways, even looks up to him in a sense as a mage. Whenever he gets a significantly powerful fire spell, he reaches out to Xeroc to guage his interest.
