"Home's where the good food and good company are, anyway." — HSC contracted worker, building the Anchor's initial structures
The Anchor is the first settlement on Locus Astra to be constructed in relation to the Pathfinding Initiative. It will serve as the central hub for operations relating to the expedition. It was founded as an outpost following the discovery of the sphere and the High Stellar Council's agreement on the terms of the mission.
Today, the Anchor is considered neutral territory under the oversight of the High Stellar Council, leaving it subject to interstellar law as a whole but away from the influence of individual nations should conflict break out during the mission itself.
Characteristics
The Anchor was created as a collection of prefabricated structures assembled by a construction crew sent prior to the Pathfinders' landing on Locus Astra. The original camp consists of very few buildings and is designed to be practical rather than to provide much of an advantage for the Pathfinders.
Its purpose is largely to place a roof over the heads of the Pathfinders while they explore and carve out a place for themselves on the sphere.
Notable Locations
The Tavern
The Tavern is a common gathering location for those seeking a drink or food, and is one of the first buildings anyone sees upon entering the Anchor.
The Inn
The Inn is the Anchor's built-in residential quarters, provided by the HSC so Pathfinders who do not build their own sleeping arrangements would not be rendered houseless. The inn features three stories worth of sleeping space.
The Fishing Shack
Exactly what it sounds like, the fishing shack is the place to go for sailors and fishermen alike.
Villager Settlement
Following debates about how to handle the native sapient life discovered on Locus Astra, as well as the rescue of two of said villagers from the ocean, the Pathfinders have arranged for a villager settlement to be constructed to house them properly.
The Mayoral Office
Mayor Euna's office is more or less always open for concerned visitors, and recently is equipped with a security turret system to deter assassins (in the form of pillagers). When Mayor Euna herself is not present here, her assistant Mercutio likely is.
The Workshop and Storage
A one-stop shop for materials and crafting, the Workshop is a two-story building that features both an expansive dimensional storage system as well as several necessary facilities for processing materials.
The Town Hall
The town hall is the site of much debate and discussion among Pathfinders, becoming a central meeting location for a variety of occassions. The Town Hall's construction was largely overseen by Mayor Euna as well as Aris Kross.
Anchor Medical
The first major build expansion to be handled through builder bots, Anchor medical is a three-story building featuring medical facilities as well as research space. The design and construction of the building was overseen by Dr. Maya Sherazi, and largely completed by bots BB DL-6 and BB C130.
The building also features a basement to serve as a quarantine zone, and the third floor holds a large glass dome for a ceiling, equipped as ritual space per Dr. Sherazi's request.
Cybernetics Clinic
Originally a temporary medical facility due to Anchor Medical being a work in progress, the clinic is well-equipped for cybernetics installation. Its construction was overseen by Lerinov.
Sculk Science Lab
Needing a secure space to study the sculk, the sculk science team does all their work in the sculk science lab, constructed in the former bunker space discovered at the Anchor. The lab facility doors require a special key to enter, and have a calibrated security system to prevent unauthorized individuals from breaking in.
