Ae'Thir is a rare Nythera who looked to learn technology together with magic, top student from both Elyndra and The Eden Construct. Who, despite several options, decided to live a calmer life. Found in Chitara working with both broken and outdated machines.
His old connections from his student days got him easy access to the Pathfinding Initiative, which he saw as the best way for him to find a cure for his wife.
Appearance
A Nythera on the shorter end, boasting a height of 5'7, with long antennae and a small butterfly on the face. His body is lean with powerful muscles that wouldn't make sense for his size, Ae'Thir carries himself proudly with his dark chitinous skin and membranes are denser than usual for his kind, making them heavier with a very bright red bioluminescent shine.
Personality
Ae'Thir is a very warm person, who looks for people as if they were their own. Very prone to helping first and asking questions later.
Will be the friend that looks for you if you haven't shown yourself in a while and make sure you are healthy.
Don't take his care for weakness, as there are a few switches that can, and will, turn him into a completely different person.

Education
Weaving
The skills acquired for weaving were mostly from talking to more skilled weavers, although he is good at it, he is in no ways a master, but his time weaving and the several people he learned under got him to the level of an expert.
Magic
Him being from Elfame was a stroke of luck, being the place that housed most of the great magic institutes of Elyndra, meant he could easily hop onto his next obsession, delving to study the magical arts for a great part of his life. Whilst not dedicating his life to it, he did acquire certifications of his knowledge, which gave him the authority needed for his next obsession.
Technology
This obsession brought him to The Eden Construct, learning in both Mechinos and Skoredem schools, his time there quenched the thirst for knowledge he had. Earning him more certifications.
Relationships
Toyin(NPC)
The one he decided to dedicate his life to, the woman who took his heart that never once loved that way. She is one of the reasons he didn't get a more rugged personality from living in Chitara. He would send the universe in chaos if it meant her safety.
Taquein
The little one he met on Chitara, and the one who became his child. The other reason Ae'Thir's personality didn't get more rugged from living in Chitara. He would do everything in his power to keep them safe, going against the world if need be.
Euna
One of his friends from his wife's workplace, meeting her during his visits to his wife. Euna was the first who decided to talk to him as himself, and not as their boss's boyfriend/husband.
History
From very early on in his life Ae'Thir showed a curiosity to everything around him. Wanting to learn all that was to learn. A curiosity intrinsic to his people, and one that only grew after learning his membranes were much denser than usual, making his mana storing capabilities much worse than other Nythera. Living in Elyndra for 23 years, trying his best to keep up with his fellow Nythera, he understood that comparing himself to others in the realm of magic was never going to allow him to grow, thus he decided to pursue the thing that once was frowned upon by his community and now, is more and more desired, science.
With the adaptation of science with the magic of his community his interest in technologies only grew, managing to convince their leaders to be one of the researches sent out, directing his gaze to the land of technology, The Eden Construct. Where he would dedicate the next few years of his life to learn and understand technology, and how to weave magic and technology in a so well integrated level that it would seem like one.
During his years of study he got to not only understand the intricacies of technology, but the knowledge of weaving that is intrinsic to the Nythera, made understanding science something extremely exhilarating. Making him the very center of his group of students. Making friends with several of his classmates, and in particularly rare pair from Chitara, a Lepteran and a Carcid, respectively named Sevagoth and Hyldrin which helped Ae'Thir see through the lenses his people had of them.
By the end of the 8 years of study, Ae'Thir's depth of knowledge had gone past all possible expectations he had, succeeding in integrating magic and tech to a level he finally felt comfortable showing others outside of a study space. Seeing there was no longer a need to stay on Eden he decided to go somewhere else, which was a blessing since, compared to home, the air was too polluted for him to want to stay there, saying goodbye to his classmates turned fellow researchers. But from the great time he had with them, he could really call them his friends. And thanks Sevagoth and Hyldrin he decided to see if Chitara was as interesting as his friends. Moving to Chitara soon after, saying goodbyes to everyone who he met there.
His arrival to Chitara was... Uneventful? Maybe he was expecting too much, maybe he fell into overthinking, but the first few days were very nice and comfortable, no large events happened at all. Thanks to his background, acquiring a job was extremely easy, working for an engineering company, getting to do "simple" jobs and receiving enough to just do whatever he wanted on his free time. And it kept the same way for a long time, during which he started a side hustle as a hobby, making and repairing technological apparatus for both people and other firms.
As he explored Chitara one day, he was stopped by a young Lepteran, who found his wallet, claiming it was dropped on the ground, when he knew it was on his pocket, but since it had absolutely nothing inside he didn't think too hard on it, thanking the young Lepteran who after Ae'Thir inquired for their name, after a surprised look they introduced themselves as Taquein.
Every now and then Taquein shows up again, usually returning something Ae'Thir "dropped", a wrench here, a screwdriver there, pliers, you name it. Talking more every time they meet.
At one of the side jobs he undertook, he went to a company called Rockston Mining and Energy, and during a quick maintenance he couldn't keep quiet about the several problems that were clearly visible to him, pointing them out, what would change if they were fixed, and approximately how much it would cost to do the repairs. Which then, the present representative, Toyin, finally with solid points for what to report to superiors, to finally fix things around her. Which made her call for him to work on more things over time.
During one of the works at Rockston, after finishing Toyin invited him for a drink, which he accepted. The conversations went nice, Toyin complimented the work Ae'Thir was doing, but then she told him:
Toyin - "It doesn't take a lot of effort to find where ya work for. The whole side gig thing isn't very... welcomed in Chitara. Non-Competition agreements and company loyalty are big here."
Ae'Thir - "Huh? But there was nothing of the sorts on the contract... right?" - He said exasperated.
Toyin - "I'm not threatening you, don't worry. I'm a lot meaner if I was, just thought to warn ya. But you are plenty helpful, so I'd be sad if you got in trouble with the silly guild politics."
Which actually got a genuine smile out of Ae'Thir, instead of the usual business smile he presents to people, after this more serious talk the night went wonderfully. Which made Ae'Thir feel much closer to her.
During one of the days he was doing his usual work, he noticed Taquein moving away, but when he called for them, they quickly disappeared between buildings, and it went a while before he saw Taquein again, noticing them pass by him, turning to look at them the exact second they were taking the wrench he used for everything. Causing him to give chase, this time as they were closer, even though Ae'Thir is short, his strides were still larger than Taquein's, which allowed Ae'Thir to reach and take hold of them.
The conversation was slightly harsh, from Ae'Thir's side, telling them that actions like that are very dangerous and could lead to issues for them, but although harsh, it was out of worry, while they've met for short times in several occasions it was one of the few interactions where Ae'Thir felt they were taken seriously, that is why he worried for Taquein. Being answered with something that shook him. Taquein said: "Chitara is not just a nicely working society, its a decorated mechanical trap set by those in higher power meant to ensnaring the hard working. It’s brought me nothing but strife. It’s better to for me to be against them than with them, because at least when I’m against them I’m free." It got Ae'Thir to slightly lower their grip, allowing Taquein to sneak away in the underground concrete labyrinth.
It came the time that Ae'Thir would finish all maintenance and repairs at Rockston, he knew it, but each time he went there, he didn't want to leave, not that it ever affected his work, he was as efficient and perfectionist as ever, but it still felt terrible to leave, after all, that was were Toyin was, he just wanted to be near her, it felt right, but never would he allow his self established level to drop. Reluctantly, as he finished his work, he asked her if it would be possible for them to keep in touch, specifying that it wasn't work related, definitely expecting to be refused he prepared for the worst, a worst that never came, as she actually accepted, stating she did think about the same, which got another huge, genuine smile out of him.
Things were starting to feel better, he could count on the hand the days he went without getting in contact with Toyin, and it was a feeling he never felt before. But that feeling was dangerous, not because it was a weakness, but because it got his head out of the surroundings, and Chitara wasn't so nice to people who weren't aware. Getting him to once again, feel someone taking the wrench, but sadly for him, this time it wasn't Taquein, the chase was rather short, a pile of boxes fell on the robber which got Ae'Thir to recover his wrench, looking to where the boxes were he saw Taquein, going over to talk.
To begin with, he thanked Taquein for the help, since he was loosing speed compared to the robber, while Ae'Thir was fast, he didn't know the ways around, and every turn got him further from them. Then he said sorry, he admitted he was over the line the other day, being harsh to Taquein, he felt that they were close, so he got sad and angry when Taquein took the wrench, but that didn't excuse him for acting like his dad, when he wasn't. After some time talking they actually came to understand more of each other, getting them closer still. Ae'Thir was happy, he did like the kid, and having them around, every now and then, felt nice.
Sometimes when Ae'Thir and Taquein met, he would pull them around to show them how to work some machines, after all, every single skill is a good skill. And during those times they would grow closer. And Ae'Thir couldn't help but feel like Taquein was his kid, sometimes calling them son, but not like when an old person refers to a young one, he really was treating them like so.
One day when pulling Taquein around, Ae'Thir was extra happy, and when Taquein asked why, he just went overboard, saying that he got another date with a wonderful woman he could never stop thinking about, saying that the next day he would spend most of the day with her, he was just happy to talk about Toyin to someone he trusted.
And that day he happily talked about arrived, he put one of his better looking clothes and went to meet Toyin at a restaurant, arriving there he saw her through the window, already sat waiting for him, and the way he froze when he saw her, she was even more gorgeous than she always was, and that wasn't something he thought possible. The date went amazing, it felt like he was back in the Garden, feeling like home. Ae'Thir decided to accompany her home, since even though they were in a safer part of Chitara, it was still Chitara, on the way back to Toyin's place, they've met Taquein.
Saying they've met Taquein was not entirely true, Ae'Thir was too focused on Toyin and wasn't paying attention to his surroundings, Toyin on the other hand, noticed someone following them around, and as soon as the opportunity appeared she called out to the person, Ae'Thir instantly turned to look at them, and recognized Taquein, who seemed slightly flustered from being caught, thinking it was a nice coincidence, as he truly was oblivious to the fact they were being followed, he introduced them to each other, to Toyin he introduced Taquein as a kid he saw almost as his son, and to Taquein he introduced Toyin as the most gorgeous person he ever met, he was happy noticing Toyin smile in the edge of his view.
As time went on Ae'Thir's and Toyin's relationship only continued to develop, having Ae'Thir now visiting her at work, bringing food he made for her. But, given customs from back home, he always made extra, giving the extra for her workers. And one of those days while bringing food for her, he got a call from work, now with a tighter schedule he couldn't go up himself to give her the food, recognizing one of her workers, he stopped her, it was Euna, and requested a favor: "Hey, Euna correct? Could you do me a favor and bring this to Toyin - he said as he handed her a bag with a small box - I'd take it to her myself but I gotta go to work earlier today. Also... - he said giving her another bag, this one had a larger box - this is for you to share with your workmates. Thank you and sorry!" Giving her no space to accept nor refuse, as he was already running for the conduction.
His presence at Rockston became more and more usual, going to see Toyin more and more regularly, coming to talk a lot more with everyone working there, slowly becoming friends with them, Euna being the first he came to befriend, given how he once forcefully pushed her to do him a favor.
As time went on Ae'Thir knew he wanted to be together with Toyin forever, and was preparing to propose to her, he was looking at beautiful places he could take Toyin to propose, he had found a place with enough skill to make a ring he deemed worthy of her, he was getting everything ready for the perfect day... But Toyin did not want to wait for this perfectionist, and during a small date of theirs, she proposed, it got Ae'Thir completely by surprise. Of course he agreed, he loved her with all his being, but he couldn't stop himself from telling her how he was planning everything, just to be told by her that she knew, he wasn't subtle, but the one thing he was, was being slow.
Recently Ae'Thir noticed how she got more pale, how she appears more out of breath, how she felt more tired. Whilst he didn't say a thing, he was paying close attention. He commented it to Taquein, who was also noticing those things. They decided to talk to her and convince her to check on it.
The news hit Ae'Thir heavily. He was told about her condition when they married, and before, it wasn't ever an issue, but the situation she was in now, it scared him, he feared he would lose her, he did not want to lose her, he did not want to see Taquein lose his mom, the family that he got was not going to be lost.
It was time to put his bloodline and his skills to work, knowing how to weave mana from his people, and knowing how to work machinery from the Aurelians, it was time to fully meld it, designing an apparel to resonate the targets internal mana with their surroundings, allowing pure mana to seep in the places it stagnated, causing a surge or regeneration on the applied area. It should work, the schematics and previewed calculations were correct, wouldn't be a permanent cure, but should at least keep her stable for a while, long enough for him to find a true cure.
The creation of the machine he called Regeneration Inducing Mana Stabilizer(RIMS), started well, the general technical parts were simple to design and assemble, one would look at it and be confused with all the empty areas in the handheld item, but those were crucial, as the next step was to weave the mana into those spaces and connect it to the machine, and that was were everything went sideways, he didn't know if he miscalculated, if he has lost his touch, or if the mana didn't want to be attached to the matter, but the reaction was intense, not only did it cause a massive backlash of mana, it also kept drinking mana, when the ambient mana was gone, it started to pull the mana from Ae'Thir himself. He knew the process could NOT be stopped, he would lose all the material he painstakingly acquired to make this, the reaction to the ceased supply of mana would be very reactive, so he powered on, feeding his own mana to the machine, had he not been a Nythera, it was possible he would've died, but his membranes, being mana batteries, managed to allow him to power through, and when he felt the machine stop pulling his mana he knew it was ready, but the relaxation and the state of mana deprivation made him pass out.
He woke up to Taquein, from the looks of it, he was out for a very short time, and it was great, he tried to get himself up but couldn't feel his body very well, with Taquein's help he got up and took the RIMS, he was certain it'd work, but he would never test it on her, and since he couldn't feel anything he decided to use it on himself first, it seemed like it was a failure, but soon after he felt as if a lightning current was rushing through his entire body, as if he finally got mana back after having none... Which could've been very well the case, and had he not tested it on himself he could've left Taquein and Toyin behind without knowing.
Seeing all the effects were the ones from his previewed outcomes, he decided that it was now or never, going with Taquein to see Toyin and help her. The outcome was everything he calculated, but sadly it cannot go above his expectations, and only worked as a temporary measure.
Contacting again his old classmates, he acquired to opportunity to join the Pathfinding Initiative, talking to his wife and son, it was then decided that Taquein would go with him. As Taquein said: "I know mom can take care of herself, you...". That got a laugh from Ae'Thir and they decided to go together.
