"He's a fascinating one, DeLott. He's one of the most dedicated people I've ever met. But he's a bit... weird. Nothing wrong with weird, but you tend to notice it pretty quickly." -Dr. Jaeris, Auphelm R&D

Sh'wasai DeLott, more commonly referred to as Dr. DeLott, is a reputable surgeon and researcher back home. Having both a Doctor in Medicine and Biological Sciences, DeLott tends to dabble in both fields when he's able. While he tends not to take credit for his involvement, he has been associated with several breakthrough studies, such as the development of the Quolopox vaccine.

When word of the Pathfinding Initiative got to DeLott, he decided it would be a great opportunity to expand his horizons, and lend much-needed medical expertise to the Pathfinders. Of course, it wouldn't hurt if he did some research as well...

Appearance

DeLott is a greyish-green with darker scales across his body. He has pink eyes, brown hair and gills along the sides of his head. He also has a fairly muscular build for a doctor, even if it's hard to see since he chooses to wear a lab coat most of the time. He attributes this to being prepared, in case something should arise. I can't imagine how many of those coats he brought with him. Although it seems like he never sleeps, DeLott shows no physical signs of fatigue or exhaustion.

Personality

Describe how your character tends to act, and what their goals are for the campaign! Here you can explain their beliefs, ideology, and their dreams for the future.

History

Education

DeLott had a very unconventional education, having enrolled in two separate universities for two separate degree programs at the same time. Because of this, he ended up earning both of his degrees around the age of 28.

"He was top of his class. Of course, I didn't know he was taking 8 classes at a time. It's almost a bit terrifying how he managed to keep it together through that. I guess the results speak for themselves, don't they?" -Professor Ulyen, Wohlar University

After graduation, DeLott accepted a part-time job at Auphelm Research & Development. He also found work at Galvurn Medical Center close by, bouncing between jobs for the forseeable future.

Professional Career

Despite working two jobs, especially jobs as mentally taxing as his, DeLott found a way to manage. He'd work day and night with his team at Auphelm, and then walk into Galvurn the next day without so much as a yawn. While it did creep out some people, most of his co-workers recognized and respected the contributions he was able to make under these conditions. However, DeLott tended not to take credit for these contributions himself. No one knew exactly why he didn't want credit, seemingly not even himself. When asked about it, he usually waved it off and stated that he was more interested in helping people than getting credit for it.

"You wanna know what I think? I think he doesn't want people pestering him over it. And I get it, the amount of suckers that come up to me and tell me I'm wrong about something I researched and that they're correct, it's exhausting. Guess I'll never know for sure though." -Dr. Purreli, Auphelm R&D

DeLott kept up his routine for years, balancing his research with his medical commitments with few issues. DeLott did find himself involved in some controversy in recent years, after a former patient of his went missing. The person in particular, Viva Ferrul, was operated on by Dr. DeLott at Galvurn Medical Center after her appendix had burst. Shortly before this surgery, Ms. Ferrul had contracted Quolopox, a rare disease that has the highest mortality rates in children aged 3 to 9. Due to the lack of evidence, DeLott was acquitted of any accusations made against him. However, after this whole affair, DeLott decided to take a step back from his positions and pursue other opportunities.

Pathfinding Initiative

While scoping out new work, DeLott had been recommended to join the Pathfinding Initiative by a former professor. Despite his distrust for the High Stellar Council, DeLott decided that joining the initiative would give him a good opportunity to find a new outlet for his talents on Locus Astra. It would also give him some much needed time away from home, giving him a fresh slate with a new crew of people to work with.
