"If your character has something cool to say, add it here." — Character Name

A short introductory blurb about your character goes here. This should briefly explain who they are, what role they play in the story, and any key traits that define them!

Think of this section as a way to give readers a quick understanding of your character before they read the full page.

Appearance

While you might think an image is enough to show what your character looks like, it helps enormously to describe your vision in writing as well. This helps a lot with context so artists seeking to draw your character can do so accurately.

Early Life

Diana was born on Stratos to a relatively middle class family. Her mother was one of the local government officials, and her father worked as a mask-maker. Diana had two older siblings, and one younger brother. She spent most of her childhood as any good Caelune did- flying around, getting into silly trouble, and trying to pay attention in classes. As Diane grew older though, she was less able to keep up with her brothers and parents flying around- she was growing much taller than her family, similar to how her grandmother was, where she had plenty of muscle mass but could not sustain flight as well.

This made her focus less on flying around and had her lock in on her studies and magic courses. Her father was hoping she would follow the family's business of making masks, but she seemed a lot more interested in government matters and getting her hands dirty. Diana got picked on often in school and by other kids for being abnormally large and unable to really keep up in flight. She was incredibly hard on herself and grew secluded. Diana felt she didn't have a place on Stratos, at least, in any of the Caelune cities.

When Diana heard of an opportunity to work off the planet and in the stars through High Stellar, she jumped on the opportunity. Where Diana lacked speed and agility, she was a force to be reckoned with and did excellent in her combat classes. After many trials and teachings, she gave a farewell to her family and took a ship to High Stellar.

Inciting Event/Turning Point

Initially, Diana worked as a security force, but with how quickly she excelled in the position, she moved rapidly through the ranks. She loved her work, loved being off Stratos, and the biggest thing of all she had been able to start a family. While a bit untraditional, there had been an incident leaving a young Sonyx orphaned. There was a fight that broke out between two ships, which resulted in a large loss of life. Relatives couldn't be tracked down, and with Diana being both trustworthy and from the same native planet, she took her in. She didn't have a name, and so with respect to her culture, the Sonyx was called Akizk.

When Diana was not working, she was with Akizk. The two did everything together, and many people working with High Stellar loved the girl. Eventually, she would begrudgingly make trips back to Stratos, to meet with her family and give them time to interact with her daughter. Life was good, and eventually, Diana was promoted to a commander position leading a large fleet of the force.

Tragedy struck during one of her trips to Stratos. While on the ship heading down to the planet, there was an issue with the landing mechanisms. The ship came down too fast, ultimately making a landing but not without burning up slightly in the atmosphere. When they landed, there was a brief silence while the pilot of the ship got up to inspect things. And then, a blast of fire filled the cabin.

Diana doesn't remember what happened after that besides hearing herself, and Akizk scream. She woke up in a hospital, heavily bandaged, and very confused. She tried asking where her daughter was, but only got pitiful looks from the nurses. When her condition stabled, they broke the news to her.

Akizk had suffered severe burns to her body during the accident. While they tried their best, they could not keep her condition stable. She had passed peacefully in her medically induced coma. Diana felt her world vanish, vaporize.

Something wasn't right with her when she got out of the hospital. She had mostly grown her feathers back- they took most of the impact and her gear kept her out of permanent harm. Her face was slightly disfigured and scarred though, leaving a permanent reminder of what happened. She flew back up to High Stellar- but they noticed her behavior as well and respectfully sent her back to Stratos until she could recover mentally. Diana lived with her parents, quietly working on masks to keep her mind off things, but obviously haunted by what happened.

Arriving on Locus Astra

The second opportunity came when someone from High Stellar was knocking at the door. She went and opened it, and was greeted with a message. There was going to be a mission, and they wanted her go join. It took a few days for her to think it over, but her parents pushed for Diana to take the opportunity. It would be good for her to get away from everything. And so, adorned with a new mask, she joined the mission. For Akizk. For her family. And maybe, for herself.
